LPG installation, service and spare parts

LPG installation

The conversion of the fuel system of a car in order to run on LPG is a process that can only be done by qualified, skilled and experienced technical teams such as AutoFlash Gas. The LPG fuel systems of vehicles that are available on the market over the recent years are technologically advanced and they manage to make the most of the latest emission control technology, used in modern petrol-powered vehicles.
FlashGas By installing the conversion kit, the LPG is channeled to the engine through a pipe. It immediately turns into gas through a conversion unit (lung) and -in a controlled pattern- it runs from the spray system (gas injectors) into the fuel introduction unit.
After the LPG installation the vehicle operates as normal, either on LPG or petrol. The only difference is that there have been installed some extra spare parts such as: pressure reducing valve, gas injector, wiring system of the engine control unit (ECU), fuel selection switch with the LPG level indicator, fuel piping from the tank into the engine, tank with the special multivalve, constituting the supply and shut-off valve, expansion relief valve, and the fuel filler neck which can be placed adjacent to the petrol plug or externally, in the bumper or below the bumper upon a metal base.
When using LPG, petrol injection units do not operate. However, a switch that allows the use of either of two types of fuel is always installed in the control panel of the vehicle. All modern cars (having factory-built catalysts) accept the parallel use of either petrol or LPG. You can even switch the type of fuel when driving.

Registration process of the LPG system

After installing the LPG system, the owner receives an affidavit of Law No. 1599/1986 addressed to the MOT test centre, stating that the conversion was performed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Transport and it is accompanied by the components certificates. The vehicle then undergoes a MOT technical inspection in order to determine whether the procedure has, in fact, been conducted according to current legislation. Later on, the Prefecture Transport Directorate, which is responsible for vehicle registration matters, grants the appropriate change in the vehicle registration certificate. From that point the fuel type is indicated as "unleaded-gas."
The first technical inspection of the vehicles is done in private and public MOT test centers, where the data of the repair shop, of engineers and of spare parts will be cross-examined in order to determine whether they are approved or not. The following technical controls can be done either in a public or privately-owned MOT test centre.

Vehicle inspection is a procedure mandated by the government. We will arrange one for your vehicle, right after the LPG installation
